De Unie, in your interest

Your collective labor agreement and industry

Cao banks: Last attempt to get out on November 23, 2022

November 16 2022

On Tuesday 15 November, we again conducted collective bargaining negotiations. It was the intention of the parties to reach a negotiation agreement on this day. But unfortunately this did not work. The structural salary increase is the major stumbling block for these negotiations. The members of De Unie expect a compensation for the large loss of purchasing power due to inflation. But the employers are nowhere near a percentage that compensates for the loss of purchasing power.

Various solutions have been investigated

In order to reach a negotiation result, the parties to the collective labor agreement have investigated various options.

Two-year collective agreement
Employers' proposal
As of January 1, 2023: 3,75% structural salary increase
As of January 1, 2024: 3,75% structural salary increase

Proposal trade unions
As of January 1, 2023: 8% structural salary increase
As of 1 January 2024: 5% structural salary increase and a one-off payment in the event of disappointing inflation.

Trade unions have also proposed a shorter collective labor agreement with a term of 14 months.

  • As of 1 January 2023: 4,5% structural salary increase and a one-off payment of € 1.000 gross.
  • As of 1 January 2024: 4% structural salary increase and a one-off payment of € 1.000 gross.

The employers indicate that they prefer a two-year collective labor agreement. They do not see a solution in a shorter collective labor agreement.

How further?

As you can see, the gap between the employers' proposal and the trade unions' proposal is still very large. We have scheduled an extra meeting on Wednesday, November 23, 2022. It has been agreed that both employers and trade unions will investigate whether they can accommodate the other party.

Point of view De Unie

We assume that the 3,75% that the employer now offers is insufficient for you. This is not an appropriate compensation for the loss of purchasing power that you suffered from in 2022 and that you will still feel in 2023. Ultimately, the members of De Unie which structural salary increase for 2023 (and 2024) is considered acceptable. Your opinion matters.

Other subjects

Other topics have also been discussed. However, this is very brief because we focus the negotiations on the financial agreements.
