Professional freight transport: proposal letter

Summertime is in full swing. This is the time when we look ahead to the upcoming collective labor agreement negotiations for professional freight transport. First of all I would like to thank our members and our followers for all the responses. Although I, advocate Edith Werger, had expected many reactions, there were more than I dared hope for! I have taken the reactions into account in the proposal letter. You can find the proposal letter here.

At the time of this message, reactions from the last newsletter about the wage question are still coming in, so please continue to do so. It is presumed that this newsletter will also generate the most reactions. And that doesn't surprise us.

The amount of reactions to the graduated breaks was enormous. In short, the general reaction was staggering pause = theft. It seems to me that the graduated break in the collective labor agreement 2023 has come to an end! We will commit ourselves to that.

It became all too clear that the waiting day in case of illness is an eyesore. Indeed, we find the phenomenon outdated and we understand the people who feel offended by this. So employer: Instead of applying a waiting day, now go and send a get well card, because if it is up to us, the waiting day will be canceled in the new collective labor agreement.

The third point about commuting expenses also received a lot of responses. Especially now with the comparatively ridiculously high price increases extremely important. But apart from that, do you want to be an attractive employer and you don't even offer a commuting allowance!? I assume that the applicants are in line then…..

The proposal to make 5 May an annual paid holiday was met with great support. The same can be said about the work from home proposal. Not concluding the collective labor agreement in time did indeed cause resentment. Mainly because it is felt that there are no good reasons for the delays. I will explicitly draw attention to this during the negotiations. (I dare not promise anything in this regard, because if there is no good wage offer, we will not be able to conclude a new collective labor agreement soon). Finally, the Minimum Collective Labor Agreement, you have clearly indicated that you are in favor of a Minimum Collective Labor Agreement.
