Aegon: Negotiations collectively and social plan

June 16, 2022

At the end of April, we started negotiations for a new Aegon collective labor agreement and a new social plan from July 1, 2022. On Tuesday, June 14, we discussed wages and the social plan again. Unfortunately we are not making any progress on that.

Wage and social plan

We have not come closer during this consultation, the gap remains too large. Your employer understands the consequences of inflation, but there is a lot of pressure to save on (wage) costs. Aegon remains stuck on a 2% salary increase with an incidental amount. We ask for a 5% salary increase per year. Also on the social plan we are not getting closer to each other.

Hybrid working and sustainability

Aegon does not want to make any (new) agreements about hybrid working in the collective labor agreement. People prefer to keep it as it is now described in the personnel regulations agreed with the COR. Aegon understands that more flexibility is required. Your employer is prepared to discuss this with the trade unions and the central works council together.

Aegon wants to make good agreements about sustainability in the collective labor agreement. How do we strengthen engagement and what financial resources are made available? We will discuss this further in the next meeting. If you have any ideas about this, we'd love to hear them!

Situation

We will agree on the following topics together:

  • leave for rainbow families
  • transitional leave
  • broadening of sabbatical leave
  • health check
  • make vitality initiatives fiscally attractive

We will discuss these matters further in the next round:

  • sustainability
  • informal care
  • temporary workers
  • bereavement leave
  • classification

We need your input!

We still have a day and a morning planned to discuss. Although we would prefer to get it out before the summer, the reality is that we are still too far apart at the moment to reach a negotiated result. We would therefore like to ask you for input and advice. After all, you decide what we can agree to. Where is our scope and what do you think should at least be included in the collective labor agreement and the social plan? Think about the following questions:

  • What is the minimum pay increase you could agree to?
  • Which topics are most important to you in the collective labor agreement and social plan?
  • How important is the stability of the social plan to you?

We are organizing two digital members' meetings to discuss it with each other, namely on:

  • Monday 20 June from 16.00 pm to 17.00 pm via MS Teams
  • Thursday, June 23 from 16.00 p.m. to 17.00 p.m. via MS Teams

If you can't or would rather give us your advice by mail, you can reach us via emanuel.geurts@unie.nl en mandy.raijmakers@unie.nl† We will anonymously include your input in our next consultation round, which is scheduled for Monday 27 June.
