Difference of opinion
We have informed Achmea that there is a difference of opinion mainly with regard to the premium distribution in the new (WTP) pension scheme and the salary increases that have yet to be agreed. We have also asked employees for their opinion. In this information we would like to inform you about the outcome and draw your attention to the 'Month of the Trade Union'.
High response
In the past few days we have received many responses. Not only via the completed response form, but also directly. Employees have also responded on Achmeanet itself. Often in 'clear language'.
Achmea's commitment rejected
An overwhelming majority of those who responded to our question (98%) do not agree with Achmea's efforts. Not even after Achmea itself provided 'text and explanation' about this. The responses often state that there is too little appreciation for the employees, a (good) substantiation is lacking and that the competitive position on the labour market is also important. In addition, it is also stated that Achmea's results are good and that they have worked hard for this.
Wage Offer Disappointing
Employees mainly indicate that they are disappointed with Achmea's latest wage offer. They want a market-conform wage increase, preferably to take effect immediately at the start of the new collective labour agreement.
Pension proposal unacceptable
Many employees also find the proposal for the new (WTP) pension scheme unacceptable. Employees indicate that more money for less security is doubly to their disadvantage, that the new scheme is mainly to the advantage of the employer, and they do not understand why the personal contribution must first increase and then be compensated again via the salary.
Achmea's turn
Of course, we will share this clear result of the survey with Achmea. Because Achmea has also committed to an employee consultation on the result of the collective labor agreement negotiations that has yet to be achieved, we expect them to take this signal seriously. We will do so in any case and will continue to work to quickly achieve a good result for the new collective labor agreement on June 10 and 17 (a new date will be set for this).

Become a member for free during Union Month!
In June 2025, employees at Achmea who are not yet members can De Unie, for a year free of charge become a member, provided that they have never used the Union Month campaign. This is based on a collective labor agreement. Are you – or perhaps a colleague – considering becoming a member of De Unie (including individual legal assistance)? Then this is the moment to take that step. In addition to information about the collective labor agreement, he or she can also count on individual assistance and make use of various member benefits.
Achmea is a great employer and the employment conditions are good. And of course we want to keep it that way. And the bigger we are, the more influence we have. In your interest!
