Members' comments

Many members posted a comment with their vote. The fact that the agreement is not fully embraced is in line with the process we have gone through. These were tough negotiations in which we also enlisted help from our members working at ABN AMRO, including by means of a white paper and completing several surveys.
During the negotiations, we included what was extremely feasible for all parties in an agreement that took all shared interests into account as much as possible. The majority of our members ultimately agreed to this and were positive about the result. We have received many compliments on this process and the result, for which we thank you.

Critical comments

Critical comments have also been made. For example, some believe the salary increase is not yet sufficient, mainly pointing to the agreements with comparable financial institutions and the decline in purchasing power. Concerns have been expressed about the pension scheme, in particular about the level and stability of future pensions. We also read that the appreciation is not felt in combination with the workload that is experienced. While on the other hand, concerns are also reiterated about the objectivity and possible unfair use of the valuation premium. This is a sampling of common comments, but we will analyze all comments in full.

We will take these critical comments, including those about the valuation premium, to the periodic meetings and communicate about them. In addition, we still have to return to the questions from our members about continued payment of wages in the event of illness for cases that are already underway. We are still waiting for a response from the bank on this.

Main points of the new agreements:

  • The collective labor agreement has a term of two years, from July 1, 2024 to July 1, 2026;
  • A structural wage increase of 6% on July 1, 2024;
  • A valuation premium in March of 2,5-5% unless there is inadequate performance. This appreciation premium is an annual agreement and applies to all employees, even if you are at the end of the scale;
  • The growth in scale will become a fixed growth of 1% per year as of April 2,5 and is no longer dependent on your performance;
  • A structural wage increase of 3,75% on July 1, 2025;
  • An extra day off on the day after Ascension Day;
  • The social plan will be extended unchanged until July 1, 2026.

The texts of the new collective labor agreement will be worked on in the coming period.

How further

It has been a long process, which ultimately resulted in new agreements for the collective labor agreement. We have often asked for help from our members and asked for opinions. And they have been answered en masse. For which we sincerely thank you. Of course, thanks also to the executives who worked hard. They were present in the background, at the collective labor agreement table and in the side room. We must determine the texts with ABN AMRO and will of course share them with the members. In addition, we will take all critical comments into account in the next discussions with ABN AMRO.
