The detailed plans
The detailed advice request is still under embargo. The plans state, among other things, which functions will be eliminated and for which functions fewer people are needed, according to the employer. And although, as usual, no names and shirt numbers are included in the advice request, people could infer from it that they (could) become redundant. Tata Steel will therefore first inform the employees who are affected by the plans personally about this in the coming days.
As stated in the Newsflash your employer sent out on July 8th, the request for advice will be released next Monday, July 14th. Only then will we be able to contact our constituents about it.
Consultation with the unions
On July 8th, we submitted a number of questions to the employer. Tata Steel will respond to our questions this week. We also anticipate that you may have questions regarding the information you will hear on July 14th.
The members have therefore received an invitation to participate in the online members meeting on Tuesday, July 15 at 13:30 PM.
On July 17, 2025, we will continue discussions with Tata Steel about the plans and the next steps in the process. We will address any questions and comments members may have during the July 15 members' meeting. After July 17, we will inform members about the further progress of the negotiations between the unions and Tata Steel.
