Pension transition
We have had exploratory discussions with Signify to prevent Signify employees from suffering pension losses if their employment contract ends before January 1, 2027.
The transition to the new pension plan, likely effective January 1, 2027, may lead to lower pension accrual for certain groups, and for this reason, these participants in the pension plan will be compensated. To be eligible for this compensation, you must be an active participant on January 1, 2027. Employees who are laid off as a result of the reorganization before January 1, 2027, will therefore miss out on this compensation. This could involve significant amounts. The unions now want to reach an agreement with Signify to ensure that employees do not miss out on this compensation. Signify has agreed to constructively collaborate on solutions. Philips and the Philips Pension Fund are also involved in this process. We will discuss this further on March 6.
As mentioned, the discussions on this matter were exploratory. This means that initial positions have been exchanged, and in-depth discussions will follow shortly. This topic affects the future pension accrual of many employees and therefore deserves careful discussion. We will, of course, keep our members informed.
Collective Labor Agreement: last-ditch effort to get out
As is known, the parties parted ways in December due to the excessive difference between the employer's wage offer and the unions' wage demands. This difference has not yet been bridged. To avoid an impasse, it has been agreed that both parties will present a revised proposal during the next meeting on March 6th. The unions are thus making a last-ditch effort to reach a balanced collective bargaining agreement that does justice to your commitment and contribution.
Secondary employment conditions will also be a high priority on the agenda during the next meeting.
How further?
We will inform members immediately after March 6th about the outcome of the consultation with Signify. Keep following our newsletters and share them with your colleagues who are not yet members. De Unie. Let them become members too. This can be done very easily via this link. Together we can achieve more!
