Statement
Ivo van Dijk, member of the Executive Board, has informed Emanuel Geurts, the representative, about the proposed strategic partnership with VGZ. As a result, the majority of employees providing these services will transfer to VGZ. Some employees will remain within the ONVZ organization, which will continue to operate. This is all subject to approval by the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM).
Effects
The consequences of this move, assuming it goes ahead, include ONVZ employees transferring to VGZ along with their current employment. This is called a transfer of undertaking and ensures that your current employment conditions will continue to apply after the transfer. VGZ has its own collective labor agreement (CLA) which governs the transfer. De Unie is also present at the table. The advocate can imagine that the discussion about harmonizing employment conditions will come up in the future. He understands that the current social plan can serve as a buffer for situations where this leads to undesirable outcomes. We'll see; first, approval from the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) is required.
