Aegon: Update Aegon social plan and collective labor agreement

At Aegon, we will be negotiating the new collective labor agreement and social plan in the coming months. With a view to a possible move The social plan deserves extra attention from the head office. Steef Bilars is also pleased to introduce himself as a new advocate.

What happens to the social plan?

The current social plan expires on December 31, 2025. Due to the potential relocation of the headquarters to the US, you will understand that this is a significant concern. Therefore, trade unions have entered into discussions with Aegon and the Works Council to make agreements about the process. At the request of the trade unions, it has been agreed that Works Council members may participate in the negotiations. This provides a sounding board that brings their expertise from the organization. We have also agreed that the social plan and collective bargaining agreement negotiations will be separated, and that the social plan will have priority. The collective bargaining agreement negotiations will therefore follow the social plan negotiations. When do collective labor agreement negotiations start?

The social plan is a priority, but collective bargaining agreement negotiations will also take place this year. We will be announcing the schedule, our efforts, and, of course, the members' assessment of what is important in the new collective bargaining agreement soon.

Free membership during Union Month?

September is Union Month at Aegon. For Aegon employees, this means they can become members for free for a year this month. Our members at Aegon have the final say in negotiations for collective agreements with the company. Changing of the Guard

With great passion and boundless patience, Emanuel Geurts has been able to represent the collective interests over the past few years. Steef witnessed this firsthand when he attended the previous collective bargaining agreement negotiations as an observer. Now, Emanuel is taking a step back, and Steef is stepping forward.
