The first meeting between Aegon and the unions took place on Thursday, September 25, 2025. The meeting focused on the social plan, which expires on December 31, 2025. In this newsletter, I'll update you on what was discussed and ask for your input on our efforts.

The meeting between Aegon and the unions was attended by representatives of the CC/GTS and AAM works councils. The meeting was also facilitated by a process facilitator from A-Advies. Relations are good, and an open and constructive dialogue has been established.
Aegon social plan proposals
Aegon has outlined its proposals for a new social plan. The proposals fall into three categories:
Regular social plan
This concerns the current social plan. Aegon has assessed the value of this plan by comparing it to comparable social plans. No deteriorations have been proposed. There are tentative discussions about some substantive improvements.
Magnolia supplementary arrangements
With the potential relocation of its headquarters looming (also known as Magnolia), Aegon wants to explore options for establishing supplementary benefits. These benefits would then apply to employees affected by Magnolia.
Additional arrangements for Senior Management
Aegon also wants to discuss options for a separate arrangement with senior management. The agreements would then apply only to Magnolia.
We have not yet provided a substantive response to Aegon's proposals. The unions will receive an overview of all the concrete proposals next week. We will present these to you to gather your feedback, so we can provide a comprehensive response at the next meeting. The next meeting will take place on Monday, October 6, 2025.
Collective bargaining agreement
The next meeting will focus on the social plan, but the collective bargaining agreement negotiations are also still ahead of us. We'd love to hear your ideas for our efforts. Consider topics such as:
- Loon
- Employability
- Work/life balance
- Mobility
These topics are not exhaustive. You know better than anyone what's going on and what's missing in the collective bargaining agreement or could be improved. So please let us know.
Free membership during Union Month?
Good news, Trade Union Month has been extended until October 10, 2025. This means that Aegon employees can become members for free for a year this month. De UnieOur members at Aegon have a significant influence on their own employment conditions and those of all their colleagues. De Unie After all, Aegon is a party to the development of the collective labor agreement and the social plan. Our members at Aegon have the final say in negotiations for collective agreements with the company. In addition, members are guaranteed the best support, both legal and otherwise, should things go wrong at work. And of course, members can always use our Service Center for all their questions about work and income.
