Working at MAAS: clarity regarding employment conditions is important

At MAAS, employees work in an organization that is constantly evolving. Precisely in such an environment, it is important that there are clear agreements regarding wages and other employment conditions. A collective labour agreement provides stability, clarity, and collective agreements that you can fall back on.

De Unie has been active at MAAS for many years and represents the interests of employees in negotiations with the employer. In doing so, we look not only at salary, but also at broader employment conditions and agreements that suit the company's practices. In the recent collective labour agreement discussions, the focus was on, among other things, wage increases, scale adjustments, the 80/90/100 scheme, the duration of the collective labour agreement, and the reimbursement of union membership fees.

The recent period has shown how important a good collective labour agreement is. In March 2025, MAAS announced it would terminate the existing collective labour agreement effective February 1, 2026. Subsequently, considerable unrest arose when there was talk of an arrangement without a collective labour agreement. Members made it clear that they specifically need certainty and fair agreements regarding wages and working conditions. De Unie has therefore made a strong commitment to resuming negotiations and continuing to work on a new collective labor agreement.

That consultation ultimately led to a final offer that was improved on several points compared to earlier proposals. The members agreed to this, but also clearly indicated that they considered an excessively long term undesirable and wanted full reimbursement of union dues. Those signals have De Unie forwarded to MAAS, after which the company ultimately agreed to both adjustments. With that, the collective labor agreement became final.

Do you work at MAAS? Then you want to be able to count on clear information and expert support. De Unie helps you with questions about your collective labour agreement, your terms of employment, and your position within the company. During collective labour agreement negotiations, we also ensure that members stay informed and have influence on the outcome. This way, you are not alone when important decisions are made regarding your work and income.

As a member of De Unie you are in a stronger position. We know the case, follow developments closely, and are committed to clear, fair, and explainable agreements. This ensures that your interests are well represented at MAAS.
