De Unie at health insurers

Here you will find information about the developments that are important for health insurers. And you will find information that has to do with the collective labor agreement for health insurers.

De Unie represents employees of health insurance companies. We are actively involved in the development of the collective labor agreement for health insurers and the sector's pension scheme. We also conclude social plans at companies. On an individual level, we support members with questions about terms of employment and career.

Health insurers, as social entrepreneurs, represent the interests of their policyholders. De Unie represents the interests of employees. Do you work at CZ, DFZ, DSW, Eno, IptiQ, Menzis or Zorg en Zekerheid? Then is De Unie there for you!

De Unie at health insurers

As an intermediary between health care recipients (insured parties) and health care providers, health insurers play a central role in Dutch health care. The growth from health insurance fund to health insurer, the mergers of eight health insurers, the introduction of basic insurance and far-reaching automation demand a lot of adaptability from the approximately 15.000 employees at the health insurers.

These rapid developments have consequences for quantitative employment. Fewer people are needed to do the job. It also has implications for qualitative employment. Administrative work is largely disappearing, what remains is high-quality work. De Unie makes every effort to enable employees to keep up with developments in the industry.

Shrinkage of the branch organization

In 2015, VGZ decided to want its own collective labor agreement. This CLA is in consultation with De Unie established. This means that the Collective Labor Agreement for health insurers no longer applies to VGZ employees. The Cao for health insurers applies to employees who have an employment contract with one of the following health insurers: CZ, De Friesland health insurer, DSW, Eno, Menzis and Zorg & Zekerheid. And in addition a number of organizations that apply this Cao voluntarily, such as Health Insurers Netherlands.

Pension fund SBZ

De Unie is represented by professionals and members on the board and the members' council of the SBZ, the pension fund for health insurers. We are represented by professionals in the sector fund. The sector fund is engaged in the improvement of cross-company employment conditions
