Health insurers: update

On Thursday 9 September, we and the other trade unions negotiated with Zorgverzekeraars Nederland about the pension and collective labor agreement. We have come to an agreement about the pension and have taken steps with the collective labor agreement. Below is an explanation of both topics.

Retirement

We have opted in good harmony for a defined contribution plan until 1 January 2027 with an interim cancellation clause. This cancellation clause is necessary in order to be able to switch to the new national pension system in the interim if necessary. The study on this will continue.

Social partners will continue to pay the same premium in the scheme in the same division between employer and employee. The same pot is also used to subsequently lower the employee premium. However, the return will be better than it is in the current scheme. We also use the maximum fiscal scope for the pension scheme. All agreements and a good explanation are now being drawn up in order to be able to send along with the negotiation result after 1 October.

High

In addition to the pension, the new collective labor agreement as of 1 January 2022 has also been negotiated. All proposals have been submitted and we have reached agreement on almost all points or the proposal has been withdrawn from the table. Employers are yet to come up with a detailed proposal on the subject of holiday savings.

There are still a few points on the table on which no agreement has yet been reached, including wages. The trade unions have made a new proposal to employers. We ask for a wage of 2,5% for one year, May 5 as a paid day off and the introduction of the Early Retirement Scheme (RVU). The employers have given an initial response and will come back to this in the next round.

Continuation

The last round of negotiations will take place on Friday 1 October, and then we will have to reach agreements on the new collective labor agreement. We will then submit the entire pension and collective agreement to the members for a vote for two weeks. In the event of a positive result, the pension fund can ensure that the new pension scheme is ready for you as of 1 January 2022. Naturally, a new collective labor agreement text will also be drawn up.
