Randstad Group Netherlands: CLA vote

April 16, 2021

On Thursday 8 April, Randstad Groep Nederland communicated that an agreement in principle has been reached on a new collective labor agreement for permanent employees of RGN and Randstad Sourceright. The negotiation result is a new collective labor agreement with a term of two years (1 July 2021 to 30 June 2023) entitled 'Your Best Self'.

In this newsletter we take you into the agreement. This agreement is a logical continuation of the proposal letter we sent on September 26, 2019. Our commitment was focused on three spearheads: good pay, personal development and work pressure.

Reward

In the agreement in principle, we were able to agree on a nice indexation of a total of 4%. In concrete terms, the wages and salary scales will be increased by 1% with effect from 2021 July 2 and again by 1% from 2022 April 2.

In addition, RGN and the unions have agreed to evaluate the bonus scheme and to implement possible adjustments based on this evaluation as of January 1, 2022. We will of course keep you informed about this evaluation and the possible adjustments. The salary steps for promotion (discussed in the agreement in principle under the heading 'Job satisfaction and promotion') will also be examined and adjusted where necessary as of 1 July 2021. We will of course also keep you informed on this point.

Personal development

In the agreement in principle, it has been agreed that a training package from NCOI will be made available from 1 July 2021 for every employee to whom the collective labor agreement relates. These courses will aim to increase your perspective and enable you to develop yourself continuously.

In addition, a survey will be conducted among RGN employees to determine “how you wish to learn and develop”. This investigation will be completed no later than June 1, 2021. Changes based on the results of this study will be implemented no later than January 1, 2022.

Workload

Workload and the ambition to grow and increase market share; that sometimes seems to be at odds with each other. The new collective labor agreement pays extra attention to this. Of course, the discussion about workload usually starts in your own Great Conversations.

Processes relating to the influx of new colleagues have been or will be adjusted and we will continue to discuss this with RGN. Think of the turnaround time: how long does it take before a departing colleague is replaced? And with growth, we want to provide reinforcement faster with the necessary guts. There will also be more attention for starters so that we prevent them from leaving too quickly. Together with RGN, we monitor whether these types of initiatives contribute in the right way to the ambitions on the one hand and the workload on the other.

Other points

In addition to the three spearheads, the current (and future) situation requires everyone to look at work in a different way. That is why we are proud that the new collective labor agreement also includes arrangements for informal care, place-independent working (working from home) and for various types of leave. We think that this way you as an employee will have more opportunities to be your best self. You can also read about these matters in the agreement in principle.

We and the other trade unions consider this agreement in principle to be a good and good result for the employees of RGN. The three spearheads that we have received from you for a new collective labor agreement are, in our view, anchored in the new collective labor agreement. In addition, the agreement in principle offers a number of fruitful follow-up steps that will be examined and laid down in the short term. As an employee delegation, we therefore give a positive voting recommendation for the agreement in principle.

Process

During the next two weeks, members can vote. The members have received an invitation to vote on this. On April 28 close the vote and we will share the (anonymous) result of the vote with the members and with RGN. In the coming period, RGN and the unions will further develop the agreement in principle into a fully-fledged collective labor agreement text.
