In this message I, Emanuel Geurts (representative) inform you about the start of the negotiations for the collective labor agreement MITT and send you the text of the new collective labor agreement SAVAMITT.

Negotiations collective labor agreement MITT

On Wednesday, November 16, 2022, we started negotiations for a new collective labor agreement in the MITT. Not yet with a letter of application, but first with a discussion of developments in the sector, with the companies and employees in the MITT. What do we see, what do employees and companies encounter and what does this mean for us to arrive at a new collective labor agreement?

For example, we discussed the high costs of energy for companies and employees, the purchase and transport of raw materials, the effects of high inflation, order books now and in 2023, money concerns of the staff, the (automation of) production process and the shortage on the labor market. Trade unions and employers shared the developments, concerns and ambitions regarding the topics discussed to a greater or lesser extent.

We will meet on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 to actually start negotiating. Then the commitment letters from the trade unions will also be on the table. Employers have already indicated that they will not come up with a letter of application, but that they want to quickly hit the nail on the head with us. They understand that the emphasis in these negotiations will be on wages and the introduction of the generation pact. They are also willing to take steps in this direction. To be continued soon.
