CLA negotiations

The current collective labor agreement for contract catering runs until April 1, 2022. Employers have recently contacted us by email brief let them know that they are canceling the current collective labor agreement and want to negotiate with us about a new sector collective labor agreement from April 2022. We want to reach a new collective labor agreement with agreements for two groups of employees. The current employees who are currently covered by the collective labor agreement for contract catering and new employees who join contract catering and adjacent sectors. This then becomes the collective labor agreement for Hospitality.

There are already some deviating agreements in the collective labor agreement about the Inflight. This catering branch may require more individual employment conditions agreements. We will discuss this separately with employers.

The first date for collective labor agreement negotiations is scheduled for Tuesday, January 18, 2022. That is why I would like to know from you what you find important. What priority do you give to matters of employment conditions, such as personal development, self-rostering/flexibility, reimbursement of travel expenses and exchange of employment conditions? Of course we also negotiate a structural salary increase.

Let me know before Friday 14 January via emanuel.geurts@unie.nl? Thank you for that!

Retirement

The Board of Pensioenfonds Horeca & Catering has consulted trade unions and employers in the hotel and catering industry and contract catering brief about the introduction of a new pension scheme as of 1 January 2024. In my previous newsletter I sent you information about that. This means that in addition to the collective labor agreement negotiations, we also have to make choices about pensions. More on that later. You can also find more information about your pension via the renewed website of the fund at www.mijnphenc.nl.

Code Responsible Market Conduct

The Code of Responsible Market Conduct has organized a number of (online) activities this year, including a talk show and a guide to purchasing services. More information about the code and the contract catering sector can be found at www.coderesponsiblemarktbehaviour.nl.
