Your collective labor agreement and industry

CLA negotiations started on April 7, 2021. In the first meeting, your employer identified a number of themes that are guiding for VGZ in the negotiations for a new CLA.

VGZ wants to make agreements on the following themes:

Employee development.
Vision of De Unie: Obviously this is an important topic, in our proposal letter has De Unie attention to that too. We expect that we will be able to make good agreements with VGZ on this subject.

Hybrid works, VGZ wants to develop a healthy and sustainable standard for this.
De Unie in the consultation, challenged VGZ to really come up with an excellent proposal, in all areas involving hybrid working. We also draw attention to the say of employees, not everyone wants to continue to work from home, many people notice that working together and being able to consult easily with colleagues is also valuable, but few people want to return to the office completely. There must be room for the choices employees make themselves.

VGZ wants to be the healthiest employer in the Netherlands and to encourage healthy behavior.
Vision of De Unie: here it becomes important what exactly VGZ wants to achieve. After all, you regulate the employment conditions of employees in a collective labor agreement. It is not a tool to influence behavior. De Unie wants to keep a close eye on the boundary between employment conditions and private matters.

VGZ indicates that they consider it important to pay employees an appropriate remuneration for their contribution to VGZ.
De Unie will point to the positive result of € 67 million for 2020 in the negotiations. VGZ also indicates that the organization's market share is increasing. The number of employees, on the other hand, continues to fall (from 1827 in 2019 to 1776 in 2020). This means that per employee is increasingly contributing to the results of VGZ. De Unie would like to see this reflected in the collective salary increase. In the annual financial overview, VGZ warns that the impact of the consequences of covid-19 is not yet clear. I expect this subject to be reflected in the collective bargaining negotiations.

As a last topic, VGZ mentioned that they have a want to be an inclusive employer.
It is for this too De Unie important to ensure that we make agreements about terms of employment. The collective labor agreement is not an instrument for political or social statements by the employer.

De Unie has consulted with the members about improving the terms of employment at VGZ. Some of the themes that VGZ is citing have also been put forward by members of De Unie suggested.
