Collective Labor Agreement 2020-2021 Kemira

March 18 2021

Employer admits its colors and cuts to the seniority scheme and 85% days

Prior to the second round on March 11, employee organizations asked Kemira to make concrete proposals. To our disappointment, the employer's letter of proposals did not contain any proposals. During the consultation it turned out that Kemira wants to cut the seniority scheme and the 85% days. Kemira does that by hijacking and stripping down our own proposals about adjusting the 85% and senior days for 65 and 66 year olds. So unions are disappointed and concerned about this counterproductive attitude that Kemira seems to be taking.

Concerns about progress in negotiations at Kemira

While the term of the collective labor agreement has already expired at the beginning of this year, Kemira is in no hurry with the negotiations. During round I, there were no proposals from Kemira yet. The letter we received for the consultation also contains no proposals. Unions could assume that negotiations would then take place on the basis of the change proposals submitted by us. Kemira thought otherwise. Kemira did not respond to our proposals either. It was only after much insistence that the word got out. Unions do not understand why management chooses this strategy. It usually does not contribute to a constructive atmosphere.

Going for it: handing in almost 29% -41% of the existing 85% and senior days

When it comes to the current senior citizens and 85% days, it is obvious to extrapolate these after age 64 to age 67 (or further), at least until the age at which the AOW starts. These days are still not included in the collective labor agreement, despite the fact that the state pension age has already been raised. Kemira confirmed in round I that this is being acted upon in practice. Colleagues aged 65 and 66 now get the same number of days as 64-year-olds (apparently the aging process at Kemira stops when you turn 64): 36 days 85% days per year and 8 or 10 days senior days depending on your schedule. We have expressed our appreciation for this, satisfied that this proposal was already 'in' on our part.

On the contrary: Kemira now proposes the days to which 65 and 66 year olds can claim, be surrendered and wants to redistribute the days from the CLA. This can mean that the days start later or that you get less per year, in short, everyone is losing out. It would result in enormous cost savings. Kemira complains about an occupancy problem.

Employee organizations are not satisfied with this. When the state pension age is pushed back, protection measures are not a luxury but a dire necessity. Recovery is all the more important to get to the finish line fit. Now cutting into a scheme that is meant to help people with this is not possible and is not allowed.

Kemira's integral response to our proposals: No, no, no and no wage offer either.

The response to our proposals is very poor.

  • Kemira is willing to cooperate in the introduction of ee to the RVU scheme. Doe must make it possible to stop a maximum of three years before the state pension age. The employer pays € 22.164 per year for this and the employee pays the rest. So you will have to have saved a lot. Kemira only wants to do this if it can make use of a subsidy.
  • Kemira is willing to make one generation pact scheme to investigate but this should not cost anything and would like a conversation over pension advice arrange for. The settlement of contribution en employer's contribution his agreement.

Kemira wants no appointments make about: leave savings, take it with you temporarily extra legal holidays because of corona, extra partner leave continue to pay, home work allowance, contribution to make international solidarity, day off May 1, day off May 5, make agreements about confidential counselor, make agreements about facilities informal care en mourning in the workplace, workload, an individual learning account or the proposal on the WGA differentiated premium. Kemira refuses to make a wage offer.

The third round on March 31, 2021 and two digital grassroots consultations on April 16
