Aegon: Reorganization

March 12 2021

Major reorganization

With some concern De Unie has taken note of the extensive reorganization that Aegon has announced. The Reset Transform Sustain (RTS) program focuses on cost savings for the entire organization.

As a result, Aegon is dropping 10% of FTEs in the Netherlands. In addition, approximately 200 functions will be changed or moved. We often see that not all employees can retain their position during such changes. Dozens of additional workers are likely to lose their jobs. Especially Corporate Center (Aegon CC), the unit in the Netherlands that operates internationally, is severely affected by this reorganization.

What does this mean for you?

It is annoying news when an employer has to implement a reorganization. It heralds a period of uncertainty. You can contact us with your questions De Unie. We are there for you and support you where necessary!

How further?

Aegon has submitted a request for advice to the central works council. Aegon now has to wait for the advice before the reorganization can be implemented.

We will consult with Aegon and the other unions to discuss the consequences of the reorganization. And discuss how the social plan can best be used to guide redundant employees internally or externally to another position. In addition, we will examine whether the social plan is sufficient in all cases. For example, when drawing up the social plan, no specific attention was paid to Aegon CC's international colleagues who may no longer want to continue their future in the Netherlands.

Expertise of De Unie

We have already gained a lot of experience with personal career support and work-to-work programs at various companies. We would like to share this knowledge so that Aegon employees receive the best support. Of course we hope that you can continue your career at Aegon. But if that is not there, you can also contact us with your questions.

New chances

Many new vacancies are also created in the RTS request for advice. We urge Aegon to fill as many of these new positions with its own employees as possible. Filling XNUMX percent of the vacancies internally seems like a great challenge for the organization!
