Aegon: Negotiation outcome

In recent months De Unie frequently negotiated with Aegon. These efforts have resulted in a negotiation result for a new two-year collective labor agreement. De Unie has also extended the social plan in consultation with Aegon.

Negotiation result

Negotiations were difficult. Aegon is undertaking a major reorganization because it is necessary for the company to significantly reduce costs. In these circumstances, the employer did not want to agree to an increase in labor costs. On the other hand it was for De Unie non-negotiable to agree a collective labor agreement with members without a salary increase. We have concluded the negotiations with sometimes difficult compromises, but also with some nice improvements in terms of employment. You can control the negotiation result here  .

Opinion

The floor is now up to the members of De Unie. De Unie-members may let them know what they think of the negotiation outcome.

The members can vote until September 15, 2020. The result of the vote will be made public on 16 September.

A selection from the negotiation result

The salary increase is a difficult compromise: a general, structural salary increase of 0,5% as of October 1, 2020 and of 1% on March 1, 2021 has been agreed. The employee's own contribution to their pension will be reduced in 2 steps. At the same time, the employer's contribution to the pension premium will be increased. And there will be two one-off payments of € 250 gross.

Positive are for example:

  • The Aegon CLA will be extended with a sabbatical. This gives you the opportunity to take a (partially paid) sabbatical of two months once every seven years.
  • If you take advantage of the maternity leave, Aegon ensures that you can do this without loss of income.
  • The existing scheme for sustainable continued working will be improved retroactively from 1 January 2020: 80% work for 90% salary (was 80%) and 100% pension accrual.

On the other hand, the standardization of the salary structure and the new job evaluation system may not work out well for everyone.
